Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler brand, is gearing up to electrify its most iconic motorcycle — the Hero Splendor. The upcoming Hero Splendor Electric will retain the classic styling of the petrol version while introducing modern EV features, zero-emission performance, and low running costs, making it ideal for daily riders and eco-conscious users.
Hero Splendor Electric Launch Date and Expected Price in India
While Hero MotoCorp has yet to announce the official launch date, the Hero Splendor Electric is expected to debut in late 2025, possibly under the Vida EV sub-brand. Industry sources estimate the expected price to be around ₹1.10 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it among India’s most affordable electric commuter motorcycles.
Design Inspired by the Original Splendor With EV Enhancements
The electric variant will reportedly carry forward the classic body design, upright riding posture, and spoke/alloy wheel options of the petrol Splendor. Subtle EV cues like closed front grille, aerodynamic panels, and a digital dashboard will distinguish it visually. The goal is to offer a familiar riding experience with modern tech.
3kWh Battery Pack and Hub Motor With 150KM Range
The Hero Splendor Electric is expected to come with a removable or fixed 3kWh lithium-ion battery, paired with a hub motor or mid-mounted motor producing around 3.5kW peak power. On a full charge, the bike may deliver a real-world range of 120–150 kilometers, making it suitable for city commuting and short highway stretches.
Charging Time and Smart Features
The battery will support standard home charging (0–100% in 4–5 hours) and could also offer fast charging capabilities via Hero’s expanding Vida charging network. Features may include a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, geo-fencing, anti-theft alerts, and ride statistics, similar to what’s offered in the Vida V1 Pro.
Telescopic Suspension, Regenerative Braking, and Ride Modes
For rider comfort, the Splendor EV will retain telescopic front forks and twin shock rear suspension. It’s expected to include ride modes like Eco, Power, and City, along with regenerative braking to optimize energy efficiency. Safety features like CBS (Combi-Braking System) and LED lighting are also likely.
Final Verdict
The Hero Splendor Electric will combine legendary reliability, affordable commuting, and environmental sustainability into one practical package. It’s aimed at the lakhs of daily Splendor users ready to transition to EVs without losing the comfort, simplicity, and trust they’ve always known. Once launched, it could be India’s most popular electric motorcycle in the budget segment.
